The jobholder supports the HSBC Channel Islands and Isle of Man business with planning, managing and executing events for our customers, people and communities across the three islands of Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man. Working closely with our Marketing and Communications teams, the job holder will work on a number of high profile campaigns and events to help build and enhance HSBC’s reputation, and to ensure all participants have a great experience. With respect to customer events, the job holder can expect to work with our three largest businesses (Retail Banking, Private Bank and Commercial Banking). For internal staff events, the role will focus on leading and delivering the CIIOM Extraordinary people recognition programme. Community events bring together our people and island communities, working with some of our key local community partners. 

In this role, you will: 

  • Help drive external profile and brand through the professional organisation of events targeted at key customers, prospects and other external / internal stakeholders, in direct support of key Country / Marketing campaigns;
  • Stakeholder management - liaison with all identified stakeholders (internal and external);
  • Project planning to ensure all actions and accountable owners are identified, managing event timelines from initial request/proposal through to event execution;
  • Teamwork – working collaboratively across the HSBC team Functions and Businesses
  • Administration – management of budgets, invoice reconciliation, organising professional invitations,
  • Procurement/Suppliers: Working with procurement function to manage supplier lists, ensure all contracts are processed and managed, maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Helping out on the day of the event ensuring everything is ready and runs smoothly
  • Post event success/feedback review, making recommendations as necessary  



 To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Customer Service/relationship builder/able to establish rapport internally & externally
  • Strong planning and organisational skills - ability to juggle priorities, whilst demonstrating attention to detail
  • Self- starter, able to work on own, recognising work will fit within wider campaign(s)
  • Previous experience of organising and delivering events preferred
  • Risk mitigation – ability to think through risks and take action to reduce potential issues
  • Experience of working within HSBC desirable but not essential
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office in order to create clear, concise and visually impactful plans and documents;
  • Flexibility and willingness to work outside of standard working hours (when occasionally required) in order to manage and execute events to the highest possible standard.

 The base location for this role is Jersey.
