Job Description

An independently owned trust company is seeking to employ a trust manager to join its team, based in its St Helier office. The successful applicant will have a minimum of 6 years of experience within the Jersey trust industry with at least 3 years at the level of assistant manager or above. They will act as a Category B Employee under the TCB Codes of Practice and act as a Signatory for the business.

You will maintain and administer your client portfolio ensuring that they are administered in accordance with the statutory documents alongside any professional tax and legal advice. You will liaise directly with clients and intermediaries such as bankers, investment managers and advisers. You will establish and grow your relationships and networks. Review the periodic reviews and ensure that all action points arising from the reviews and risk escalations are managed proactively. You will attend meetings with other company functions in order to perform duties and aid the business development.

Attend one or more committees or sub committees that may be introduced by the board to facilitate the good governance of the Group companies. Action any tasks required by the board or committee of the board within the timeframe agreed by the board or committee. You will represent the group as required. You will provide technical support to other staff members as required.

The successful candidate will fold a relevant professional qualification such as STEP, ICSA or ACCA. You will have exceptional organisational, communication and networking skills. A thorough knowledge of Jersey trust, company, foundation and limited partnership law and other related legal and regulatory requirements. A good understanding of relevant UK tax issues, financial markets and the world economy. You will have awareness of risk management. You will be motivated and driven with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines. You will be willing to travel as business needs dictate.
