Tax Manager

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Tax Manager to join their dynamic team in Guernsey or Jersey. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to work on global clients from a unique and picturesque location. As a Tax Manager, you will oversee a diverse portfolio of clients, providing both tax compliance and strategic advisory services. You will work closely with senior management to expand business networks and develop new business opportunities. The role also involves coaching and managing junior staff, contributing to the efficient running of the team, and developing supportive tax technology solutions.

Job Duties:

  • Managing a varied portfolio of clients, including both tax compliance and coordinating tax advice, covering local and international matters.
  • Leading projects in areas such as domestic corporate taxation, economic substance, Pillar II, real estate taxes, international tax risk and transfer pricing, Automatic Exchange of Information, and fund reporting.
  • Upskilling and taking on senior supervisory roles within projects to expand business knowledge and client relationships.
  • Working closely with senior managers, directors, and partners across the firm's departments.
  • Responsible for the development and management of tax associates and senior associates, including delegation of work, monitoring, and coaching.
  • Contributing to the efficient running of the team by taking on roles such as financial management, supportive tax technology development, and wellbeing initiatives.

Job Requirements:

  • Qualified ACCA/ ACA/ CTA or equivalent, preferably with experience in a tax management role.
  • Experience in UK Corporation Tax, or similar Commonwealth jurisdictions, with knowledge of international tax principles (e.g., transfer pricing). Jersey/Guernsey tax experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in tax compliance and advisory work, including report writing.
  • Experience in managing junior staff and developing individuals.
  • Flexibility to adapt to relocation and a new jurisdiction, with a commercial mindset and a drive to provide excellent client service.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally.
