Job Description

The postholder will report to the fee earner for whom he/she works on each matter, undertaking document management; transaction management and all aspects of case management; collating information for lawyers; assisting in developing and expanding existing client relationships; prepare fee estimates and quotations; assist with preparation of team-specific financials and matter management such as budgets, work in progress and aged debt reporting; undertake project work; carry out client work allocated by and under the supervision of senior fee earners and partners; ensure new client matters are accurately set up in client accounting and database system, including research to satisfy due diligence requirements; ensure filing up to date and files archived; organise diaries, schedule meetings and respond to telephone queries; identify and retrieve information necessary to support legal decision-making; assist with meeting and presentation preparation; assisting with report writing.
Requirements are educated to A level/degree standard; Jersey legal experience/working in a law firm/legal environment a plus but not essential; ability to use precedents and timekeeping and billing systems would be beneficial; high level of proficiency with MS Office applications; ambitious and commercially driven; excellent communication, planning and organisation skills; ability to research analytically and produce written content; ability to prioritise effectively and efficiently under pressure; team oriented with a flexible approach to assisting colleagues.
Five years continuous residence in Jersey required.
