Maritime Safety and Control Officer at Ports of Jersey Limited

The Maritime Safety and Control Officer will be responsible for supporting and developing enforcement procedures to make sure that Ports of Jersey (as the Jersey Harbour Authority) can effectively enforce the relevant maritime laws within Jersey’s waters.

The role will be primarily focused on the development of enforcement policy and education, with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement and education, but the role will require the post holder to undertake investigations and prepare case files.

The Maritime Safety and Control Officer will support the Duty Acting Harbour Master and respond to enforcement duties in accordance with the Enforcement Policy.

The postholder will be sworn in as an Acting Harbour Master, further solidifying their authority and responsibilities within the Jersey Harbour Authority.
