Manager, Operational Permanent Control

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Manager for Operational Permanent Control to oversee the effective management of group policies and procedures, ensuring a robust risk and operational control framework within the first line of defence. This role involves risk assessment, control planning, incident management, reporting, and ensuring adherence to conduct policies. While the role does not initially include line management, this may change depending on the candidate. The successful candidate will play a key role in transformation initiatives, working closely with central teams and the second line of defence.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee procedure management, ensuring policies are implemented, applied, and communicated effectively.
  • Identify, manage, and cascade risks through the Risk and Control Self-Assessment framework in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Maintain and enhance the control plan, reviewing and analysing control results with management and operational teams.
  • Manage incidents, conducting analysis, quality reviews, and implementing corrective measures with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide management information, KPIs, and reporting to organised committees and meetings.
  • Act as a key connection between central teams and the second line of defence.
  • Lead and support transformation initiatives and local change management.
  • Engage with stakeholders to support business-wide risk and compliance objectives.
  • Ensure full compliance with conduct policies.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in risk, compliance, or data protection.
  • Background in insurance, audit, or project management beneficial.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on MI reporting.
  • Experience working in client-facing roles and looking to transition into a non-client-facing position.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to work on transformation projects beyond BAU operations.
  • Proactive, solution-driven approach to problem-solving.
