Legal Counsel

This opportunity will give an experienced and highly motivated lawyer exposure to a wide range of work across a number of different jurisdictions, focusing on CI and UK and delivering legal advice and support in alternative investment funds, financial services regulation and commercial contracts; work closely with other members of the Legal team; oversee the work of the Junior Legal Counsel;collaborate with internal business teams and support functions such as Compliance and Risk; prepare and negotiate the businesses’ engagement terms of business with external clients and their lawyers; represent the Group in commercial contract negotiations with third parties such as suppliers.
 Requirements are a Bachelor's Degree in Law; Admitted as a solicitor; 5-7 years PQE; proactive and able to work quickly and under pressure; legal experience in financial services regulation and alternative investment funds; ability to articulate clear advice, with a commercial focus and high quality written and verbal communication; strong attention to detail and ability to deliver with demanding deadlines; "can-do" attitude; ability to identify, focus and prioritise on key issues and adapt quickly to changing circumstances; good people skills; strong MS Word and Excel proficiency; able to work independently and a good team player; good relationship builder; quick to learn new systems.  Master of Laws would be advantageous.  Training provided.
