Job Description

Great role working under direction of IT Helpdesk Manager, to provide first and second line support to Directors and employees to ensure that IT systems are always operational.  Postholder will log and deal with all requests; escalate support issues; prepare and maintain help desk documentation through Knowledge Base Articles; patch server estate; supervise automatic patch cycles and manual patches; form part of equally distributed “on-call” rota to provide out of hours support; provide hardware support and maintenance for office and desktop hardware; maintains basic help desk software; support delivery of telephony; set up new user accounts and manage system user administration; update intranet and website; deal with suppliers and contractors; identify ‘hot spots’ in relation to IT systems and infrastructure; identify training needs and provide new employee induction and existing employee IT training.
Requirements are sound academic background with IT entry level qualification (or working towards); experience in office and help desk; good MS Office understanding; basic understanding of local finance industry and regulatory requirements; strong accuracy and attention to detail; good time management; ability to prioritise; able to work to deadlines; good organisational and communication skills; flexible; good telephone manner; team player; can do attitude; committed to client service excellence; proactive and disciplined; results driven.
Five years continuous residence in Jersey required.
