Purpose of the Role
The Dental Hygienist is a qualified oral health professional focused on preventive dental care and oral health education. The role supports dentists and improves patient outcomes by preventing gum disease, promoting oral hygiene, and performing clinical hygiene treatments.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical and patient-focused duties include:
Oral Care and Treatment
Perform professional dental hygiene treatments, including cleaning (scaling and polishing) of teeth.
Remove plaque, tartar, and stains to reduce risk of decay and gum disease.
Apply preventive treatments such as fluoride varnish and sealants
Review patients’ dental and medical histories.
Conduct periodontal examinations and chart gum health.
Maintain accurate patient records

Must be GDC registered.
