Job Description

Our client is a growing independently owned fiduciary administration service provider. We are looking for a Group Data Protection Officer f/t or p/t. This new role whilst providing the opportunity to work across the various jurisdictions, it requires someone to help shape a robust, group-wide standard, aligning practices where possible. This collaborative role will involve working with all departments.

You will hold the formal position of Data Protection Officer for the business in Jersey and other offices, acting as main point of contact with the Office of the Information Commission or similar. Provide data protection support and guidance across the business. Timely response to external matters. Provide regular reporting and MI to the Boards and Group Organisational Risk Forum. Proactive analysis of changes to data protection requirements and implement appropriate changes across the Group. Monitoring compliance with data protection requirements. Work with stakeholders and data owners to maintain an accurate and up to date data audit trail. Provision of regular and effective training and guidance to staff across the Group in respect of data matters, also acting as first point of contact for material data queries.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years seniority in relevant risk, data or operational roles with a good knowledge and understanding of local data protection requirements. Strong knowledge of fiduciary and funds practices, including regulatory requirements. Proven initiative and capability in supporting senior leaders. High quality communication skills including effective and adaptive interpersonal skills. You will be a collaborative team player and have excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and ideally hold ICA or other relevant qualification such as STEP or ICSA Diploma or ACCA.
