The purpose of this role is to successfully deliver examination programme focusing on assessment of compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, in multiple industry sectors. Duties involve examination planning, interviewing staff, conducting file reviews, reviewing documentation, leading opening and closing meetings, executing reporting and closing processes; adopting risk-based approach to focus on key examination programme priorities; working to agreed quality standards; ensuring internal and external stakeholders kept informed; producing assignment outputs, such as draft and final reports; contributing to ongoing development of unit and examination methodology; sharing knowledge and experience to help continuous improvement; ensuring industry trends identified and shared; contributing to projects and implementation of related changes.
Requirements are strong and proven background in financial services; previous experience working in or closely with risk management, AML, compliance or internal audit functions advantageous; ability to meet challenging deadlines and balance competing priorities; strong analytical, questioning and investigative skills; exceptional interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills with a can do attitude; ability to write clearly and succinctly and report findings with impact; understanding of risks and how they are managed in the financial services industry; proactive; hold/willing to work towards professional qualification; focused, disciplined, approach.
Five years continuous residence in Jersey required.
