As a result of continued growth, our client have an opportunity for a Director of Procurement to join their established purchase and sales team.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for providing direction and leadership to all activity related procurement. This job would suit a Senior Buyer wishing to take the next step in their career. You will work at a strategic level with senior stakeholders to present the procurement team as a progressive and responsive group who work collaboratively, provide new thinking and positively influence system improvement and efficiency. The applicant must possess strong leadership qualities and encourage their team to fulfil their potential through upskilling, enriching and augmenting responsibility. The primary purpose of this role is to assume overall control and responsibility for the procurement functions of the company including responsibility for profit achieved through buying activities and supplier rebates.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in procurement, sourcing and negotiating with suppliers within a commercial industry, ideally hold the CIPS Professional Qualification and educated to at least A Level or Degree level.
