Job Description

A leading provider of national and international fixed line, mobile data and broadband services as well as data centre and enterprise solutions to consumer and corporate customers is looking to hire a Data Analyst/Data Engineer.

Based in Guernsey, Jersey or the Isle of Man and reporting directly to the Head of Data, the successful candidate will support the ongoing development and improvement of our client's data warehousing, integration and reporting activities and deliver reliable, accurate and trustworthy data to drive the business's digital transformation agenda. Focus on data analysis and reporting. Contribute to core data engineering and administration activities. Have an existing data analyst/data engineer background and/or be technically minded with the aptitude and willingness to learn the required skills. Take functional data requirements and design, develop and document data integration solutions using the full Microsoft BI Stack, across our client's SQL Server Data Warehouse, Integration Services, Analysis Services Tabular and Power BI, with the use of some Azure-based data services. Contribute to application integration architecture projects and work on the design and development of solutions to drive process automation via API-based data solutions. Use standardised patterns to audit routines for data integrity and performance. Support the development of our client's governed self-service first approach to data and business intelligence. Work on complex, multi-system reconciliation projects to provide assurance across revenue lines. Provide support to the wider business on niche and more complex data projects where required. Maintain secure development working practices, following Dev Ops practices and governance. In addition, the understanding of and complying with applicable rules, regulations and legislations is required.

To be suitable for this role, you will hold a satisfactory Basic Police Disclosure. Demonstrate strong technical aptitude to learn new skills and be adept at solving complex technical problems. Have a goal-oriented attitude and be driven to deliver. Be a team player and able to work with others to deliver projects efficiently, but also be confident and motivate to work independently. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Good analytical skills. Strong cross-functional stakeholder management skills. Methodical and conscientious. Further highly desirable attributes include prior experience in the telecommunications industry and prior experience working with SQL, BI tools and/or Data Engineering with the Microsoft data stack (on-prem or cloud).
