Counsellor at Jersey Action Against Rape

JAAR is an independent and confidential service helping people to recover from the trauma of sexual violence. We are looking for a counsellor to join our small team.
To provide a quality counselling service to victims of rape and sexual assault that have either been referred by other agencies such as Dewberry House (SARC) or those who wish to self-refer.
Be responsible for receiving referrals, undertaking initial counselling assessments and allocating clients across the counselling team to support the Lead Counsellor.
To provide one-to-one counselling for victims/survivors of sexual violence including pre-trial therapy.
Due to the nature of the work at JAAR and the potential of vicarious trauma, employees need to be mindful of their own self-care and ensure that they actively engage in clinical supervision and regular meetings with the lead counsellor.
