Job Description

This role will act as MLCO and oversee effectiveness of AML/CFT systems, compliance with AML/CFT legislation and operation of AML/CFT policies; develop and maintain systems and controls; monitor for changes to relevant legislation or codes of practice; contribute to reporting of management information and submission to stakeholders; respond promptly to requests for information from regulator/law enforcement agencies; assist in staff development and delivery of training; maintain  regulatory logs including PEPs and declined business register, and derogations from CDD/KYC procedure; review and conclude screening output, escalating where risk appears unacceptable; oversee visits by stakeholders undertaking AML/CFT risk assessments; contribute to annual business planning process by helping with compliance monitoring programme; support annual audit and internal audit processes; support projects; provide innovative ideas on how to improve efficiencies; develop strong working relationships.
Candidate will hold compliance-related qualification; have previous relevant experience, ideally working in compliance or oversight function for Jersey regulated financial services business; good time management and ability to work under pressure; effective communicator; self-motivated and able to work without close supervision; ability to formulate, consider and select the most appropriate solutions; able to use own initiative and be open minded; experience working within a compliance function.
Five years continuous residence in Jersey required.
