Job Description

The ideal candidate should be wishing to study towards professional accountancy qualification and work in an accountancy practice covering accounts preparation and audit.  This role supports accounting and audit services to portfolio of local clients while learning responsibilities from more senior employees; production and management of statutory annual reports and financial statements; ensure financial statements comply with accounting standards; assist in provision of audit services for voluntary, compulsory and regulatory assurances as well as agreed upon procedures; liaison with external auditors and following up audit queries; managing own client base and workload with support; completing engagement letters, setup of Xero, Quickbooks; creating and maintaining client files on office systems; creating and maintaining client records in a database and practice management system; help tax team meet deadlines; assist with tax computations, prepare tax returns and corporate reporting requirements; assist with various reconciliations; assist with proposals for new engagements; develop good regulatory requirements understanding. Candidate should be University Graduate with ideally at least 2:1 degree; at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above including English and Mathematics and 3 A Levels or equivalent; competency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience in finance industry is not required but would be beneficial; highly motivated self starter; able to multi-task and work to deadlines; strong planning and organisation; attention to detail; excellent communication skills; committed to excellent client service; able to solve problems and produce results.  Support will be offered for Training Agreement to assist with study towards qualifications.
Five years continuous residence in Jersey required.
