Our client is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the onboarding process for institutional clients and investors. Based in Jersey, this permanent role involves ensuring that all onboarding activities are compliant with regulatory obligations across multiple jurisdictions. You will manage and review client and investor due diligence (CDD), oversee risk assessments, and act as a key point of contact for compliance matters. The role is hybrid and offers some scope for agile working arrangements.
Job Duties:
- Manage the day-to-day onboarding of institutional clients and investors across multiple jurisdictions
- Review and document CDD/EDD requirements, engaging with clients and investors to obtain necessary financial crime and AML documentation
- Perform and review risk assessments for clients and investors
- Assess the adequacy of client profile information to ensure regulatory compliance
- Validate and document source of wealth and funds as required
- Analyse structure charts to determine appropriate CDD/KYC per JFSC control and ownership rules
- Create and monitor outstanding CDD/KYC documentation tasks with clients and administration teams
- Conduct ongoing screening and review of client and investor activity
- Approve and check the accuracy of static data to ensure it is current and compliant
- Communicate directly with clients to obtain enhanced due diligence information where needed
- Lead trigger event' projects and ensure risk assessments meet regulatory standards
- Sign off onboarding workflows and checklists to confirm all regulatory steps are complete
- Respond to onboarding queries from the business and act as a subject matter reference
- Collaborate with Compliance to ensure high-risk clients and PEPs receive appropriate approval
- Produce management information reports on periodic review performance and forecasts
- Train and mentor junior team members, supporting their development
Job Requirements:
- Relevant professional qualification, ideally in ICA or AML
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in AML/KYC within the finance industry
- Experience working with Private Equity or Real Estate fund structures
- Familiarity with AML/CDD onboarding in the fund sector
- Strong client service delivery experience
- Prior experience performing and managing periodic reviews
- Ability to manage and delegate tasks within a team environment
- Sound knowledge of AML/CFT legislation, regulation, and best practices
- Understanding of GDPR and associated risks with sensitive data
- In-depth understanding of source of wealth and source of funds processes
