Job Description

Postholder will provide admin and secretarial support to Partners and fee earners; update diaries and notify Partners of up-coming meetings; prepare paperwork for meetings and court dates; receive and process client enquiries; prepare records and files; process and send terms of business letters to clients, ensuring they are signed and returned; process Acts of Court; take telephone calls and write up notes for client files; draft emails and letters; hold initial appointments with clients to take due diligence; scanning, photocopying and filing; updating pleading and disclosure files; preparing court bundles; conducting financial assessments on legal aid clients; achieve billing and time recording targets; comply with accounting requirements; liaise with credit control; ensure good client relationships.
Candidate will be qualified to GCSE level/equivalent; previous experience in admin and/or secretarial role; ideally relevant experience in legal sector; good level of literacy and numeracy; computer proficient with basic knowledge; knowledge of legal language and practice; disciplined and timely in time recording, billing and chasing outstanding bills; understanding of important legal concepts; confident in advising on relevant law; good planning and organisation skills to create and use logical and systematic processes; team player; client focused; able to multi-task; accurate.
Five years continuous residence in Jersey required.
